The NAAMA MI Chapter announces the new Medical Student Chapter at the University of Michigan on October of 2007.
The University of Michigan Medical Student Executive Board will consist of the following members.

About the Medical Student Section
It is through innovation and new vision that NAAMA's mission will keep evolving and keep track of time. And it is with young members that our chapter will remain viable.
In 2004 with the goal of facilitating a support  system between doctors and students, a system that fosters mentorship, professionalism, and furthers education. It will also allow medical students to learn more about the Arab culture through educational and social events.
A national effort to incorporate students into NAAMA has taken root at our chapter, with the start of the first Student Section of NAAMA at Wayne State University School of Medicine.
Our student section is getting stronger and more organized. We hope that the Wayne State University section will be a model than can be copied in other medical and allied health schools in Michigan . Plans to establish NAAMA students section are already being implemented at Michigan State University and the University of Michigan .
Our medical student members get involved in a plethora of social and educational activities. Most notably is the network of volunteers that help at NAAMA events such as the Walk for Women’s Cancer, ACCESS health fair and the International Dearborn Arab Festival.
NAAMA students at Wayne State University School of Medicine participated in the student’s organizations Ethnic Week. We presented “ Refugee Camps in Lebanon : A Medical Evaluation” which was well attended by students from different backgrounds.
At the Ethnic Fair, our student section held a contest to determine the best homemade Arabic dish as well as a workshop for belly dancing and coffee cup reading.
 Every year NAAMA MI students host the annual “Elegant Evening for Young Medical Professionals”. This event for the last tow years have proved to be an opportunity for medical, nursing and pharmacy students, residents, and fellows to network with one another.
NAAMA-WSU kicked off our chapter's multilevel mentorship program this year at high schools on colleges in Dearborn. NAAMA students, assumed the responsibility of mentoring teenagers through classroom sessions where they can be advised about overcoming challenges they might face in their pursuit of higher education. Through these sessions high school students from the community can develop an understanding about possibilities of a career in the health care field as well as establishing relations with someone who has walked that path before.
