Women in Bussiness Workshop

Our chapter partnered with The Arab American and Chaldean Council (ACC) in hosting a special and motivational evening highlighting women’s role in business and the importance of supporting women in leadership roles. This inspirational seminar was held at ACC’s Youth Recreation and Leadership Center. Although Dr. Arond-Thomas’s seminars are geared toward women, men were also in attendance in support of women’s leadership and empowerment.

Claim Your Voice! Claim Your Power! was the theme, presenting women with motivational insight on how they could have it all, without compromising their dreams. In today’s world only 5% of women hold President/CEO positions in Fortune 500 companies and are often faced with the dilemma of pursuing their careers or family. According to Dr. Arond-Thomas, “personal power comes from personal development and we must realize that it is never too late.” The key is to organize ourselves so that life accommodates us.

Guests were asked to share their dreams, big or small. The responses varied from owning an etiquette school to becoming a principal to running for president.   In the words of Dr. Arond-Thomas, “the world is a troubled place right now and it needs the feminine embodiment.” It was noted that every time you help a women, you help yourself.

Dr. Manya Arond-Thomas is a physician, a personal business coach, a public speaker, seminar leader, and an organizational consultant. Her passion is to help women claim their rightful place in the world as leaders. She has created a number of programs specifically for women.
